15 States Have Minimum Wage Above the Federal Level
New Jersey recently joined fourteen other states that provide for a minimum wage above the federal minimum wage of $5.15/hour. The New Jersey law, which is effective October 1, 2005, raises the state minimum wage to $6.15 per hour. The minimum wage there will rise to $7.15 per hour on October 1, 2006.
